ADD-In Help

B

Bob

Hello,

I have Office 2007. At one point in time I had deskPDF installed on my
computer. I have since removed it. Now when I start PowerPoint I get a
message that says,

"PowerPoint couldn't load the add-in C:\Program
Files\Docudesk\deskPDF\deskPDF2.ppa"

It does not occur when I load Word, Excel, or OneNote. I have tried going
into PPT options, add-ins and look through all the add-ins and I do not see
any listed.

Any help would be great

Older versions of PPT just quietly go about their business when they can't find
a registered add-in. This one feels it has to BELLOW at you about it each time
it starts up. Rude of it.

How did you remove the program? If by deleting its files rather than running
its uninstaller, that would explain the problem.

Try this:

Office button, PowerPoint Options, Addins.
Next to Manage Addins, choose PowerPoint addins then click Go
In the resulting dialog box, click the errant addin and click Remove.
Ok your way back to civilization, restart PPT and see if that fixed it.

================================================

The uninstall routine of this lousy software leaves garbage in the
Registry, you have to clean up manually:
Open the Registry (back it up first) and search for "deskPDF2.ppa".
Since you have Office 2007, there will be several entries. When you
find one, delete the entire key in the left pane. You do not have to
reboot.
