Because the spell check currently is for American English and not UK
English, when running spell check it will knock words based on American
English spelling. At that point you have the option of adding the UK English
word to the dictionary for future use. I know that it may not be convenient
but it's a work around for the time being.

Outlook Express just uses whatever version of the MS Office dictionary you
use, so it automatically uses UK spelling if you are in the UK. So this
integrated dictionary in Windows Mail is another downgrade for UK users, on
top of all the other rubbish things about it:

buggy status bar
highlighting posts while navigating folders
no hotmail support
harder to read icons, especially for individual posts
various other bugs
no RSS support
and now no UK dictionary support

the only improvements are the database structure and search function.

I'm moving to Outlook and find another newsreader. Or maybe Thunderbird
with hotmail addon..

Anyway, IE7 puts a shortcut on the desktop
much easier to use TweakUI and set IE to desktop, this way the properties
brings up IE options.

Here is a quick registry fix to add the IE shortcut to the desktop. Copy
the
below registry entry into a notepad document and save as "addie.reg"
(must
use quotes) and then merge it into the registry and then click on the
desktop and then press F5 and voila you will have the shortcut.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]
"{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000

I know it works that way, but there are going to be people who want to use
the new start menu. It's just another way of doing things.
