Add Icons to the menu bar

I read an article once (TechRepublic maybe?) that gave instructions on how to
build icons on your menu bar. The icons that you built were like "go to
folder" functions very similar to the shortcuts on the "Outlook Bar". The
advantage was these icons didn't really take up any screen real estate since
they were up on the very top of the screen by the menu bar.

I did this in Outlook 2000, and when I upgraded to 2002 the stayed in place.
I could use the "Go To" function on one the the toolbars, but you can't get
to the Notes folder this way. My PC has been recently re-imaged and I have
a fresh version of Outlook 2002. I want to rebuild these icons but I can't
find the article that showed me how. Does anyone know how to do this? I did
have a back-up of most of my files before the re-image. Does anybody know
where these types of menubar customizations would have been kept. Maybe I
can just restore a file and not worry about rebuilding them.

I welcome your thoughts.

they are stored in a file called outcmd.dat, found at C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. You can easily access
it by pasting %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook in the
Address bar of your browser or Windows Explorer.

Or use tools, customize and drag the buttons to the toolbars.

Thanks Diane. I found my old "outcmd.dat" , replaced the new one, and that
worked like a charm. -- Joe
