Add file to HOSTS

I'm unable to load a certain URL & was advised to
add "66.92.89.189www.finitesite.com" to the file "Hosts"
located in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc>HOSTS. It's
properties list it as a file, I am unable however to open
it (maybe I shouldn't). Would anyone know how to open
this file and add "66.92.89.189www.finitesite.com" to it?
Finitesite.com is my website host & I, unable to open it
to edit the HTML.

Thank you

To edit the Hosts file, type this command in the Start | Run box,
making sure to include the "." at the end of the command:

notepad C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts.

Put one or more whitespace characters (space and/or tab) between
"66.92.89.189" and "www.finitesite.com".

Are you sure about that IP address? When I ping that web site by its
name, it shows an IP address of 66.92.89.178. The IP address that you
listed gives a completely different web site name.

It finally worked, and here's why (in case this ever
happens to you): When notepad opened & I made the
correction, the problem was unresolved. At second glance
however I noticed the heading of the file in notepad
said "Generated by Speedy Web Navigator", one of those
spy-ware programs. I deleted the entire URL from notepad
& saved it, then typed in my URL and "VOILA! It worked!
So much for %#@%$@% spyware. Thank you Steve, you're Mr.
