Add family members and birthdays to a single contact

I'd like to add family members and birthdays to a single contact record. I
would also like the birthdays to come up in the calendar. I would rather not
have to make seoperate contacts for each person. is this possible?

Not really... you could treat a family as a company and have all the people
grouped together that way but each would still be an individual contact
