Add a page twice to the navigation bar

I ve a problem that i can't add a page twice or more to the navigation bar.
When i add the page somewhere in the navigation structure for the second
time, i got a sign near my mouse cursor that it's not possible.

The strange thing is that i ve a old site where pages are added more than 1
time in the structure, so it is possible.

Does someone know how i can do this?

I use frontpage 2002.

It has never been possible to add the same page (w/ the same file name) more than once to the Nav view

If you need a page in there multiple times try either making a copy of the page, or making a new page (w/ a similar file name) and
using a FP Include page to include the original page content in it
- note if you use an include page only the content inside of the <BODY> tags will be included so you will also need to copy anything
else from the original required by your page (script links, etc.)

Do you know the reason why they designed it this way?

The strange thing is that the old site has a navigation bar with pages that
are added twice. The links are pointing to the same location, the only
difference there is, is the name within the navigation bar?! The pages are
added on different levels within the navigation bar.

You can try Insert | Web Component | Link Bars | Custom Links
That might work for ya.

I use frontpage 2002.

You could have a dummy page that forwards to the page that is already
added.

I checked the difference with the old site and the new.

The old site was made with Frontpage 2000. The way the pages were added was
by the option external link. In this way a page was added twice or more in
the same navigation structure. So the second link and the third link..... to
the same page were all virtual links.

Now we were working with frontpage 2002:

if we use the option add existing page and then try to point to a page that
already exists in the navigation structure. Then it shows a message like:

The page you want to add already exists in the navigation structure. Please
give this page a new name and try again.

I tryed the shown solution without success.

In which way can we fix this problem? And where can we find the option that
exists in frontpage 2000? (external links)

In FP2002 and FP2003 use a custom link bar - pages in the main bar can
be added to the custom bar.

Is it possible to switch back to Frontpage 2000 in combination with the
newest frontpage server extensions (2002 or something). Also i want to know
if it this is possible, that i don't have to do all the work of the new site
all over again.

Yes, FP2000 will work just fine with the FP2002 extensions.
