Add 21 days to a date field

I have looked at all of the web sites regarding date fields, but I am very
new at this and need some hand holding.........
I know that {={DATE \@ "MMMM dd, yyyy"}+21} will give me what I want, but
how do I get there. I can't figure out how to get the "=" and the "+21" using
the field wizard. Do I press Ctrl+F9 twice?

{={DATE \@ "MMMM dd, yyyy"}+21} will *not* give you what you want.

As for the immediate issue, field boundary pairs inserted by hand are always
inserted with CTRL+F9
