Adapter for Laptop from eBay-seller?

Hi:
I need a spare adapter for my Laptop.

I went to the eBay site whether it has an Adapter I've been
looking for and found the similar one. I contacted a seller
whether the Adapter listed can be used for my Laptop.

He promptly responsed by e-mail, ... 'it's PERFECTLY fits
to my Laptop.' He has an excellent record in the eBay site
as a good seller.

However, since this is electrical, I started to concern
whether it's safe to buy from eBay site.

My question is:
Is it OK to buy an Adapter for my HP Laptop from a third-party?
Because, its maker, the HP is very expensive while an eBay-seller is half
its price.

Thanks for your 'honest' and 'candid' opinion on this regard.

Impossible to say. This isn't an XP OS issue. You might want to post this
in a hardware newsgroup.
