Hello,I need help with this!

In windows xp do i need ASPI to burn CD'S not DVD?

I have SONIC to burn DVD and it works good!

But when i try to burn CD it said please insert the disc to write to:

I have CDR- CDRW and it keeps rejecting it.

Do you think the laser is burn out for the CD burning only?

PS I have HP Super Multi DVD Writer with LightScribe and Double layer.

Maybe. It could just be dirty.
