Hi, All,

My present situation is that, I have a DC for my current
domain, which is a win2k server. I have purchased a new
win2003 server and want to move the DC role from original
win2k server to this newly purchased win2003 machine.
what is the best way to fulfill this goal?>

Thanks !

Follow http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;325379

What you basically have to do is:

1. Upgrade the schema of your current Active directory to support Windows
Server 2003 DC (see QArticle for steps)
2. After that, you can join Windows Server 2003 as second DC in your domain
3. If you plan to decommission old DC, then you have to move services
(DHCP,WINS, DNS,...) to new DC
4. Move FSMO roles to new server
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;255504)
5. Finally you can remove the old DC, by running dcpromo and remove AD from
that server.
