No, not at all. I just can't help them if they can't describe their
problems in writing. If you have difficulties expressing yourself in
writing, then have a local professional come on-site to look at your
computer instead of trying to get help on Usenet.
Don't take it personally. Some things to keep in mind when asking questions
on newsgroups and ailing lists:
1. You're asking volunteers. We're not being paid to come up with perfectly
tailored answers for your particular situation; the burden of heavy lifting
is on you.
2. Anybody trying to help might need to reproduce what you're seeing to
help. If you're not sure how to describe what you're seeing, explaining
the best you can and providing a URL to a screenshot or logfile is often
helpful.
3. Taking the time to read and absorb the advice in Malke's links is not a
sign of weakness or a waste of time as the tips provided also apply to some
degree to business email and calling tech support on the phone as well.
