How does one get rid of this. I don't mind buying the software that will and
will keep it off but it seems at this time none of the commercial products
work on Vista or those I can find.
Thanks
Hal

You can bypass many ads by redirecting them in your HOSTS file. I rarely
get ads and never doubleclick. Read up on the HOSTS file with the below
links and include the redirects into your HOSTS file. In addition to the
redirects listed, Spybot Search & Destroy also has redirects available as an
option. You can add redirects from any source to your existing HOSTS file.
Use WORDPAD to edit the HOSTS file.

Many Web sites within a given page will send you off to a Doubleclick site
or another ad site to post an advertisement on the viewed page. The
redirect to 127.0.0.1 is your own machine. So instead of going to
Doubleclick for the ad it goes to your maching looking for the ad and it
isn't there. What can happen is when you try to go 'back' a page, if the
last page was a Doubleclick attempt, you might not be able to go back. In
that case just use the 'down arrow' next to the back button and select the
desired page.
