Hello.

Does anyone know what's going on with the Lavasoft's Ad-Aware program?
The last update was on Sep 19 and the authenticity checker was giving a
false warning with it.
I was expecting a new update right away to overcome that missup.
I've noticed they've been working on a new web site, that's fine, but it
seems like they've completely forgetting to issue an update for 15 days!

Maybe Randy can give'em a wake up call.....

I'd noticed that too - I was starting to wonder if my version was corrupted.
Is everyone experiencing the same?

Hello Steffo,

Yes, I have noticed the last update to Ad-Aware was a while back (Sept. 19,
2006). This morning I did notice that new definitions are available and will
download shortly.

Since LAVASOFT has had some recent changes to the frequency and reliability
of updates I have elected to use the web based Trend-Micro program and remove
the Ad-Aware program.

CORRECTION - Sorry Steffo and Alan but I made an error....NO update was
available. I just observed the default working that the definitions are old
and do I want to check for an update.......

Yes, same thing here, no updates! Tried e-mail to Lavasoft, but all were
returned! Company must have some "BIG" problems. Guess we'll have to wait it
out.

i just checked and i only have from 9/19 and it comes up when trying to
updates- no new updates available at this time

You are correct in saying the last update was Sept. 19th.
Please be aware that the authenticity checker is a Beta tool.
You probably should only use it when it comes out of Beta.

I was expecting a new update right away to overcome that missup.

I suspect that Lavasoft are are giving a second look at how they research
their definition files to avoid so many false-positives.
I certainly hope so.

Lavasoft are well aware of the issues and are most certainly trying to fix
them as quickly as possible.
Posting needless threads at the Forum only keeps them busy on issues that
don't really need addressing right now.

I like to the program and am keeping a close eye on developments.
As soon as there is something significant, you can be sure I will post them
here -
