I installed this AD aware scanning software program ran it then deleted the
files that is said were garbage. When I went to log on to the net I could not
connect. I had to do a system restore before I could reastablish my internet
connection. Can anyone tell me why this happened

What AD aware software did you use? What files did it report as being
garbage? What errors did you get when you tried to connect to the net?

Sometimes, when you remove malware it will stop your TCP/IP
stack from working (Internet connection).
Winsock or LSP-fix will correct the problem

Ad Aware never labels any file as "garbage". IOW no one can
properly answer your question because you don't even properly
define what files were erased. Don't wildly jump to
conclusions - as your post implies you are doing. Post only
the facts. Which Ad Aware? Which file groups were erased?

Executing system restore was unnecessary. If the internet
connection did not work, then simply remove and reinstall the
network software. Again, don't jump to extreme conclusions.
Don't jump to Armagedon type solutions. Instead, list
accurately which Ad Aware and what files were deleted.

Ad Aware is so user friendly that it actually provides
explanations on what each file is or does. Others require
details such as what exactly was deleted to answer your
question. That essential information was not provided. Ad
Aware does not even define 'garbage files' meaning your post
lists deleted files that did not exist.

Just a guess, but it may be that some spyware program took over
your Internet connection, and when AdAware deleted the malware,
the malware took your connection with it. Or on the other hand,
you may simply have deleted something you shouldn't have deleted.
How are we to know?

Please follow MAP's information. Many forms of malware hook into the WINSOCK. When removed
the hooks are not properly removed and WINSOCK must be repaired as your have discovered,
TCP/IP doesn't work.
