Ad-Aware Free Internet Security

It looks to me like it provides "Basic real-time protection," which to
them means "blocks malicious processes and infected programs that try
to start or run on your system." Sounds pretty vague. I've had problems
with Ad-Aware and I don't like their products any more.

In any case, Ad-Aware is not known for being a virus scanner, and even
its spyware/malware ability isn't well-regarded these days. There are
better free choices - I would recommend Malwarebytes AntiMalware and/or
SuperAntiSpyware for spyware detection, and Avast or Avira for virus
protection.

If you have a licensed copy of Windows, get MSE linked above instead.
Since it's made by Microsoft it integrates unobtrusively into Windows,
and you don't have to pay for any definition updates. Far better than
running Avast or AVG or anything else even if those are free.

Avast has proven far better in my experience than MSE. Add
Malwarebytes free version and you've got a great (and free) set of
malware protection tools.

MS Fanboy:

You need to do a little research. MSE is not ranked highly by reviewers
compared to Avast. And, MSE is a typical MS hog.

Avast is not better and in time you will see that Malwarebytes +
Avast will bang you!

Yeah, right. Of course, MSE has already "banged" several of my
friends, and I'm currently working with yet another who relied on it
to protect them. After the first couple of times where a friend got
re-infected after I cleaned their PC up and left them on (updated)
MSE, I've replaced MSE with Avast and they have never been re-infected
since, and NONE of my friends running Avast + Malwarebytes have been
infected. Not saying it can't happen, but it hasn't yet.

Track record so far for systems I help maintain for friends and
family:

Systems running properly installed and updated MSE that became
infected: 5* of 5** that I know of.
Systems running properly installed and updated Avast that became
infected: 0 of 14 installed that I know of.

* two twice
** all now running Avast

I was infected and Avast + Malwarebytes did not protect me at all

Like I said, not saying it can't happen, but it hasn't yet to me or
any of my friends or family member's PCs.
For infect copy Avast + Malwarebytes and say it was them!

What? I don't know if English is a second language for you or what,
but I have a real hard time understanding what you are saying much of
the time, and in this case I don't have a clue.

I run Malwarebytes free version daily, on March 1st it picked up and
removed "backdoor.Bot" successfully.

Consider yourself very lucky because you don't say: "beat me two it".

Next time don't try to correct anybody if you can't correct yourself.

But I gave you good clue in English, But if need a second language

So stop trying to Read between the lines and it will not be real
hard time understand!

The of the day is { infected } look it up, for you use it first!

Sorry, I don't speak gibberish, nor do I wish to spend the time it
apparently takes to unravel your atrocious mangling of the English
language. If you wish to communicate effectively, you need to learn
how to use the language properly. On the one hand, I commend your
efforts to participate but on the other hand you really do need to put
forth the effort to communicate in a way that is intelligible.

ak gibberish,
But Reading requires understanding, or comprehending the words at hand,
Maybe you do not comprehend the English language to understand that we

You're the one who needs to stop speaking gibberish. You must learn to
properly speak the English language instead of chastising others for not
stooping to your illiterate level.

By any reasonable standard my command of the English language is at
least fair, if not good or better. I have tried to understand you, but
at some point it becomes the duty of the speaker to communicate in a
way that lends itself to comprehension before the listener can be
expected to understand. Your incoherent ramblings fail that test
miserably. Perhaps in your native tongue you are quite capable, but
at least in English you have proven that you are not. It is you that
need to improve in English, not me.

I'm done here, but do feel free to continue to fail to communicate.

It is difficult. "What we have here, is a failure to
communicate..." comes to mind, courtesy of Steve McQueen. :)

But it shouldn't - it came from a Paul Newman movie, Cool Hand Luke,
that Steve McQueen had nothing to do with.

My native tongue is U.S.A.
#1 in all languages!

There is NO language called "U.S.A." unless of course you mean American
English.

May I suggest that you learn American English, then?!

And BTW, an educated American would say "The #1 language!"

And as you might have guessed, my mother tongue is NOT English. And
that's why my English is better than yours.

Miles better!
