have you used it yet?
I am assuming you have to uninstall the old one right?

Randy I checked on Lavasoft's website and the new version is NOT vista
compatable yet.
It will not be vista compatable until the fall.
I installed it on my test computer over the SE version and it removed that
version
Checking the system requirements in the help file Vista is NOT listed as one
of the operating systems.
Lavasoft claims they are having problems with the Vista Compatable version
and pulled it till this fall.
Originally Ad-aware 2007 was suppose to come out for Vista- funny they
pulled it- I would have thought they would have fully tested it for Vista by
now since they did have it in beta testing.

I actually wanted it for my Vista Computer so I could send it out to my
vista clients but I guess I will have to wait till the fall for this.

So far it is running fine- I am doing a scan on it now and will report back
here. I do not know yet if I will put it on my other computers because alot
are having some problems with it and I want the kinks to come out before i
do so. Lavasoft is still for a while supporting the SE version

also it installed adwatch which you cannot use in the free version.
and worse you cannot uninstall it because it will not let you without taking
out the entire Ad-aware 2007

Why put adwatch in a free version if you can only use it in the pro version-
that is pretty stupid, especially if you wanted the pro you can download the
pro trial 30day version- duh!

you know what? I do not like the interphase of this new one.
It is a bit confusing for beginners
For a full scan on a 40gig hd it took 35min- not bad
But when it found adware it doesn't quarentine like SE did
If you checked the boxes in SE and clicked finish it automatically
quaranteed the files.
Here it deletes them, unless I am doing something wrong and you can tell me
what it is because I do not see this option anyware. the only way you can
quarantine the files is to right click and click on quarantine. very wierd
also what is TAU? because I am real confused over that one.

this was picked up on 3 computers
1 is not even networked to the others

and the log file is here just in case anyone else wants to see it on their
computer in xp

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware

I am wondering if it is a false positive

Hmm... I think I'll stick with SE for a while yet while they tidy this new
one up.

You may want to track these threads:

There doesn't seem to be a high level of concern and my read is that they
are assuming it's a false positive but still looking into it.

I scanned at 3 and was perfectly happy to go with the default...until you
asked.<g>

FWIW there was no difference in scan results on my system at level 2. I
haven't been brave enough yet to try level 1.
