AD and MSMQ

We are replaceing our "first server" and I noticed the MSMQ
services in AD Sites and Services exist only on the "old"
first server and its orgingal "backup" but not on the new
replacement servers (which are in AD. We are a single site
forest with multiple domains.

2 questions
Is MSMQ functional a part of AD and is it needed?

When I run DCPROMO to demote the current server will I
have problems if I don't have it on all "domain
controllers"?

You won't have problems, MSMQ is not utilized by AD itself but rather by
Message Queueing software so if you're not using one you have nothing to
worry about. Probably MSMQ was installed on the previous server leading
to the creation of these objects. You can remove MSMQ from the current
server and these should be deleted.
