Hello,

After attempting to download the AntiVirus "Defender" spyware I received
this error message, "This software requries GDI+. Please load the Windows
2000 Security Software PreRequisite Pack. After I download the windows update
which I thought included the security features, did not appear to be . When I
view the updates I did not see the "GDI+" I did find a tool "gdidetool" that
was just a GDI+ Detection Tool I accepted the agreement and got a response
that "The software tool has detected that you are running Microsoft software
that may contain security vulnerability. There are security updates available
from Microsoft that fix this vulnerability. So basically I have not yet found
what the "GDI+ Tool"

Thanks for your advise

Mark

Andy,

I have ran the windows critical updates and all that good stuff and I still
have the same problem with installing the "Defender"

MAN!! You ROCK!!! Now how is it that Microsoft would NOT think of adding a
simple explanation for us W2K sp4 users...I mean I know it's all about Vista
(clear, confident, connected) but, DANG!!
