ActiveX - Validation problem

I recently purchased Windows Vista Home Premium and did a clean install and
everything went perfect. I havent had any problems other than one thing.
When I try to validate my copy of vista online the ActiveX Control does not
appear and it says this on the page:

"Your Web browser may not configured to run the components or scripts
required by the genuine Windows validation process. Please try using this
alternate method."

I click on the link for the alternate method and it takes me to a page that
says click "Validate Now" and after I click that it brings up another page
that says "Validation not completed: ActiveX Error" the error number is
[0x80080296].

After that I ran the Diagnostics program on that page and it says "Passed"
for all of them but "Microsoft ActiveX Controls Loading".

Also when I try to add more providers to my internet explorer 7 search box
it says "The search provider could not be installed" and it gives me a list
of reasons why it wont work but none of the reasons apply to me.

If you could please help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You

andrewva84,

Suggestion, using the Options within IE 7, delete *all* temps, history,
passwords, everything, and then Validate Vista.

Also, it might require changing the "Product Key" within the Welcome
Center's "View basic information about your computer" before re-validating.
