ActiveX Security Settings Pop-up

J

Jock

I have just started receiving a pop-up while surfing the
net that states the following:

"This page provides potentially unsafe information to an
ActiveX control. Your current security settings prohibit
running controls in this manner. As a result, this page
may not display correctly."

I have made no changes to my security settings.

Anybody know why this is happening??

Our company is getting this too even though settings were not changed. It is
not supposed to happen when your security settings are set to medium, but
for some reason it started happening all of a sudden (maybe a security patch
caused this)
You can go around it by:
Tools - Internet Options
Security Tab
Custom Level
Change the "Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" to
"Enable", OK,
That should "fix" the problem, if not restart IE.

I still don't like this fix because we shouldn't have to enable that
setting. If you find out more please post the info

Thanks,
Andy

Andy, If I find out anything I will let you know and
thanks for the advise. I had, in fact, tried that and was
still getting the warning. Agreee with you we shouldn't
have to modify this security level. Makes me nervous set
at enabled.
