I host a site(on a WIN2K3 std. server with IIS)that
requires an ActiveX component to be installed on client
machines. I have had several complaints that clients
running WindowsXP cannot download the activeX component.
I have down some investigation into this and found that
any WindowsXP user that is in the stantard "Users" group
cannot install the activeX, regardless of what security
settings are set to in IE. Any client who is in the
PowerUsers group seems to be able to download just fine.
I would like to be able to tell Net Admins on my client's
end what needs to be set to enable this. Is the answer
just "Add all your users to the PowerUsers group?" Or
does anyone know further into what the real difference is
in regards to downloading ActiveX with "users"
and "PowerUsers?"
