ActiveX controls using IE6 & WinXP.

I cannot get any ActiveX controls to download using IE6 and Windows XP. I
do not even see any prompts or dialog boxes, just a red "X" where the
controls should be.

I have made sure that IE security settings are set to allow ActiveX controls
but to no avail. I cannot resolve this. I have everything set to Low
security. I cannot make ActiveX controls appear no matter what I do.

I don't have this problem on my other machine running Win2000/IE6.

Please help me.!

Could also try making sure Scripting > "Active Scripting" is set to "enable"
within the security zone you've chosen for the page.

Thanks Jon, I've done that but it made no difference.

Still get the red 'X' and no error messages or prompts.

Hmmm.. could try going Start > Run > sfc /scannow
This will ensure your ie6 files aren't corrupted etc.
