Hi

ActiveX controls are actually the same controls used in VBA UserForms (and
were developed for this purpose). Back in Office 97, Excel and Word files were
enabled to accept these, the idea being they could be used instead of form
fields. In practice, they turned out to be of limited use for a number of
reasons. Among other things, they
- trigger macro security
- have display problems when the screen is scrolled
- don't always print correctly

So there isn't really a lot of information available on using ActiveX controls
in Word. What kinds of things are you interested in doing with them?
