activex control

I receive a message click to run activex control when viewing some sites and
when I click ok it shuts down the internet. Is there anything I can do to
prevent this or fix it?

One is to avoid the sites.

Another is to NOT click on the Active-X control. It is apparently a bad one if
it adversely affects your computer.

What sites are the culprits, and what do you supposedly see after clicking the
Active-X control?

I have to click ok or close and both of them shuts it down. It closes the
internet one, some of the sites are national city, my space

Sounds like some kind of malware infection. I went to myspace and National
City, CA sites, and saw no Active-X control popups.

Download and run a couple of malware/spyware/adware cleaners (Ad-Aware, Spybot
Search & Destroy) and a couple antivirus apps.
