Whenever I click on a clip, this window opens, click another and it closes
and reopens with the new clip - only just started doing this How do I turn
the damn thing off?!??! ..and does not show in picture pane.
 
Have you installed the Media Player 10 beta ? I observed similar thing with
WMP10beta. Disabling "high quality render" (or somehting similar) from
Tools->Options->Performance->Acceleration tab resolved it.
