Active X keeps crashing

Every time I go to insert an active X control Access crashes. What is
causing this?

Here is an older post of mine on a similiar issue (empty ActiveX control
list) but the solution works for your situation as well.

So we are back to the same issues I mentioned with wrong/mismatched DLL
versions. For the empty list issue it seems to be a mismatched version
of Comcat.DLL

For more information about dll versions, such as determining what
product ships a certain version of a dll, check out the following link:
http://msdn.microsoft.com. Click the Resource menu and choose DLL Help
Database.
