i should have said i iam scanning with norton windoctor and one button check
up and the results show an active x
"c:windows\system32\macromed\flash\flash9bocx" i am a novice and dont know
what this means also it shows tempory file problems that you cannot clean out
with your suggested method as i have tried ,thanks anyway any other tips
anyone?

Norton is likely allways going to find activex entries
Run disk cleanup to clear your temp files.
Or from Start>Run> %temp% and delete the resulting files (any files in use
cannot be deleted)
I stopped using Norton many years ago, I've since come to no harm
