"active table of contents" in PP presentation

Hi

how to create in powerpoint an active menu (or table of contents)? I mean
that I'd like to have on every slide a fixed area of all my topics in my PP
presentation, and while showing a slide the current topic which the slide
relates to would be highlighted in the menu (area). I'll be grateful if
anyone could help me with it.

Hi,

If I read this correctly, you're looking to simulate a navigation bar in
your slideshow.

Take a look at the tutorial I wrote on "Control the Heat with Mouse-overs"
and download the associated template. It's using mouse-overs, but the
concept is the same. Replace the thermometer with a menu bar and instead of
mouse-over action settings use On Click action settings.

thanks for helping me but I tried and couldn't make it work as I wanted. I
know the way how to do this without using master slide, but I guess there is
a better way to create such a menu bar of highlighted topics while viewing
related slide using master slide especially when you have lots of slides
(e.g. 10 topics and 40slides). If you know how to do that please send me on
email an example of a few slides.

Take a look at the tutorial on Dynamic PowerPoint. It sounds like you need
to use Custom Shows to "segment" your presentation and then make your menu
bar link to your custom shows. It's on the same page as the Mouse-over
tutorial.
