Active Sync prevent Outlook from exiting properly

With a PDA cradled and Active Sync up Outlook will not exit properly. In the
notification or system tray area of the task bar the Outlook icon remains
present but its functionality is gone. Removing the PDA from its cradle
permits Outlook to exit properly.

XP, Outlook 2003, ActiveSync 2.37

TIA

This is known issue even with the latest version of ActiveSync. (Which is
3.71 by the way)

This is correct, normal behavior.

Is this a "normal behavior" that is going to be fixed in a future update? I
use ActiveSync for my PDA which keeps Outlook alive, even if I take the thing
out of the cradle. I don't remember this happening with previous versions
(but I may not have noticed). Is there any way to fix it so Activesync WON'T
keep Outlook open?

Uncradele it, wait a few seconds then close Outlook works for me.

In combination with; Start Outlook the other way around; first start up
Outlook and when it's finished with collecting new mail connect your PDA.

I have the latest version of Active Sync, 3.8.0, and this is still an issue.
Is there anyway to fix this?
