Active directory user accounts

I use a software that imports user accounts from a domain controller. But it
does not import groups. I create groups in this software and move the active
directory users into different groups. But when I re-import the users,
instead of simply importing the new users, it re-imports all users.
My questions is how does this software pull the user account from a domain
controller and does each user account on a DC have a UID? Maybe I can request
the software developer to check the UID on the DC and not import the users
that are already present in my software.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know how your app pulls the users in, ask the vendor.

Each user will have a SID and a GUID. The SID is fixed to the user unless the
user is moved to another domain. The GUID is fixed for every object in the forest.
