active desktop

Hello all,
I was wondering if it is at all possible to create a
background that can be updated automatically. I need this
to display a schedule that is created in excel on one of
the workstation on the network.
I have tried by creating an excel file which I saved
as .htm. Then I went to display
properties/desktop/customize desktop/web and added
the .htm file to the list which already had "My current
home page". If I click on My current home page then a
properties button becomes active which allows me to set a
synchronize schedule to update home page on the desktop
automatically. But when I click on the .htm file that I
have added to the list the properties button becomes
grayed out leaving me with no other option but physically
come up to the station and click refresh to update the
background. Is there anyway to set a synchronize schedule
to the .htm file so it updates throughout the day? Or
maybe there is another way this problem can be solved?

PLEASE HELP!
Thank you in advance,
Nikita

It only offers the Properties tab if the address of the object is a URL
If you had it on a webserver somewhere it would work

Perhaps if you added a refresh command to your page

Put this in the head section <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="60">

The number is the seconds between refreshes, set it to what you want
