If I activate the 32-bit version of Ultimate now, could I activate the
same key again when I switch over to 64-bit maybe a year later?

Being in Hong Kong, I really don't wanna make a call to US just for
activating something that belongs to me after I paid.

You can activate one key at one time. You can't activate the key to use on
both 32 and 64 bit machines at the same time.

I don't understand why you would need to "call US" if you have activation
problems/questions if you live in Hong Kong. Hong Kong's 262 islands have
over 7 million people.

Yes, one key activates either one, but only one can be installed at a time,
so when you want to install x64 Vista, first uninstall x86 Vista. If phone
activation is needed call the local number. I see no reason why you would
be called the US.

How many times could I activate a key? How frequent?

ok, thank you.

ok, thank you.

For a retail version as many times as you want, including transferring to
other hardware. For an OEM version as many times as you want on the same
computer.

Subsequent activations more than (I believe) 120 days from the last
activation should go through on the internet. Less than 120 days will
require the phone. After a certain number of activations over the internet
you will have to call in. What that exact number is I don't know.

I bought the Vi$ta Ultimate Upgrade. Same as retail?

A re-install every 120 days is fair enough.

One key at a time. Activate them an infinite amount of times until the end
of time and enjoy doing it or until the pandemic flu strains that the
Chinese refuse to share with WHO wipe out half the world.

Good point. I should have made the OEM vs. retail distinction and will try
to remember to do so. I wasn't aware of the 120 day factor.

Thanks for the info.

Just isolate your country when a pandemic comes. No one leaves or comes. ;)

Yes, all upgrades are retail and transferrable to a new system. There is no
OEM upgrade version. There must be a qualifying OS, and keep in mind that
OEM versions of XP are not transferrable.

You're welcome. I know for XP the activation database is purged every 120
days. I am guessing it's the same with Vista but I don't know that for
sure.

Just isolate your country when a pandemic comes. No one leaves or comes. ;)CORRECTION: no one enters, you could feel free to leave. :)
