Activation problem

I was bought a new Windows Vista Home Premium (OEM). When I try to activate I
get the following message:

"The product key you typed is already in use"

What does that mean? I bought a Vista but I can't activate?
What should I do? And Im 1st time Vista user.

Ayour - OEM Vista installtions are usually pre-activated (reason for the
message key already in use) - did you receive a dialogue box indicating
activation was required? What are the circumstances of trying to
reactivate?
