activation problem

Hi,
I have installed windows XP copy on my PC and now my test period are
finished so I can't login. When I try to login its log me out after some
seconds. I have purchased a new copy of Windows XP but when I try to
register the copy its log me out!!
Is their anyway of register the new copy without doing a new fresh install
because I have a lot of program already installed.

Can I activate new code in safe mode??

I tried it but it says that I can't activate in safe mode!!
