Activation Problem

I installed WinXP on a clean formatted HD. Everything
seemed to work fine. When it was done I restarted and
later got that Activation popup. After shutting down and
booting up at a later time I found the activation popup
kept coming back. It would say "Windows has already been
activated, click exit to close this window" or something
along those lines. Every time I turned on the computer it
would say I had so many days left. After awhile it sort of
stopped then one day it said I had 5 days left. Yesterday
was the last day, I now cannot login into WinXP? Whats the
problem??? How do I activate something that says its
already activated.

Call Microsoft - sounds like this one has been activated before.

Simply reboot into Safe Mode and follow the on-screen instructions
to activate via telephone.

Call the clearing house number and have them give you a new activation code.
