Activation of XP

If I change from FAT32 to NTFS after I activate Windows XP will I have to
re-activate.

No. Reactivation is triggered by hardware changes, not by
changing file systems.

Not normally. But the changing will change one of the categories that
enters into deciding whether the hardware is seen as 'substantially the
same'. so if you have made several other changes, it *can* put you over
the top. See www.aumha.org/win5/a/wpa.htm and the section on Format a
Hard disk (which does the same thing) on a way to avoid this

Unfortunately one thing it changes is the Volume Serial Number of he
partition - which *is* one of the hardware categories that enters into
WPA

Thanks, Alex; I didn't realize that. Nevertheless, just the
single change won't trigger reactivation.
