Hopefully the second activation is on the same computer as the first
or if the computer is different, Windows has been removed from the
first computer.
Thank you JJ, I will contact them and see if they will let me use another
key. I am a student and have been cleared by ELMS, Inc. I have been told
that they will give you another key if you explain the situation of having to
install on a second computer. Your info was very helpful.
When I Google "Elms, Inc." I get a couple of companies but nothing computer
related. But be that as it may, I don't think Microsoft will give you
another activation key to install on a second computer for free without
uninstalling from the first. You will, in all probability, have to pay for
the key to install the OS on another computer. I'd be talking to whoever
said that they will "give you" another key. If this is an academic purchase
there are procedures to follow to obtain a valid key from your school
bookstore.
