Activation after Sysprep

I am trying to roll out images of Windows XP. After I run sysprep and copy that image to another laptop, I try to activate Windows and I get the message "Checking connectivity..." It just hangs there until I manually stop the task. I used Ghost 2003 to create the image. Thanks

If you bypass the activation at that time and say you will do it later,
does the PC actually have working internet connectivity ??

I have also tried using a PC Card and a wireless
connection to to activate. I appreciate any feedback.

I'm having the same issue after running sysprep. Had the issue before and ended having to call to activate every PC. Very frustrating. In the past, I have successfully used sysprep and was able to activate. Not sure what the difference is. I'm actually on one of the computers that won't activate right now so obviously there is Internet access.
