activate xp sp1 with xp sp2 product key

I'd assmebled a PC for my client with Windows XP SP2 OEM version, now my
client want to go back to xp sp1 . I've installed winxp with sp1 by using an
another OEM version.

Now I want to activate the system with my old sp2 CD product key. I've
called microsoft's product activation, it was not helpfull.

I want activate the windowsXP SP1 by using windowsxp sp2 CD key.

please help to overcome from this.

I'm not using pirate software.

please help me.

You can't - why not use the OEM with SP1 key that you MUST have for that CD
to be legitimate.
Obviously you cannot have used that key elsewhere.

I'm guessing that the issue here is one OEM License sticker has already
been affixed to the PC.

Bottom line, as mentioned above, is that you can't. If your client wants
to go backward he's going to have to purchase another copy of XP. Can
you talk a bit about why your client wants to go backward? I've been
pushing all of mine to upgrade...
