I have performed as advised and I see that under msconfig>boot.ini>advanced options>numproc and I got a 1 with no other selectable option.
I use WinXP SP2, on a Dell E6400. A repair install of Xp has not resolved the matter and I cannot perform a reinstall as I do not have the key.
Please assist.

Also, look in the task manager, performance tab, view, CPU history, to see
if you can select more than one graph per CPU..

Activate Dual Core
Hi,
I have a notebook which has a Centrino Duo CPU but Windows is only
recognising one othe cores. I think this is down to the fact that the
machine was imaged from a Single CPU Machine. Is there a way, without a
total re-install of Windows, which will allow me to "activate" dual
core? (getting Windows to actually know the CPU is there!). This is
Windows XP Pro.
The BIOS is already set to Dual Core aware but Windows doesn't know jack
about it at present.
