Acronis Restore Question

M

maria

I need to restore a couple of files with Acronis True Image.
When I try to do that, I get a new drive letter, say M, and
I can list that drive M with many programs. However, when I
copy a file from the drive M to the C drive, I get an error trying
to use it.
For example, if the file is a JPG-file, I cannot view it with
any of my viewers. What is happening? Is this file, copied from M,
a compressed file? Or is it a text file? Or is it corrupt?
Thanks!

Are you doing an "Explore Image" from Acronis. That is the only way
you can do anything with the files.

I have no problem with the following scenario.

I have my XP Pro C: drive backed up by TI8 to an image file.
I used TI9 to open the image file, only restore a single bitmap
file to my d:\tmp\ folder. After that, opening the bitmap on
d:\tmp\ has no problem. Copying the bitmap to c:\ drive and
open with no problem.
