Acrobat won't open

Can anyone help me get Adobe Acrobat to open PDF files with W2K/SP4. I had 6.0, worked fine, then it stopped opening, locking up the computer saying it couldn't "Font Capture". I uninstalled 6.0, and tried 5.0 and 5.1, this time with the message that "webPDF.api" couldn't load. Adobe would still open, but then couldn't open any documents.
I've tried to enable all Active X controls in IE6, but even trying to open Adobe outside of IE, it won't open

Have no idea why it stopped working, but need to get Adobe to work fast! Please help!

If this was my PC then I would do this:
- Uninstall all versions of Acrobat
- Launch regedit.exe
- Navigate to HKey_Local_Machine
- Search and remove every key that relates to Acrobat
- Delete all folders c:\program files\acrobat xxx
(where xxx is the Acrobat version number)
- Re-install Acrobat 5.1
