acr***.Tmp files

I have been using the XP pro & also have the Mcafee licenced antivirus
running with latest definitions.

I have noticed that the temp folder in the windows directory shows about 500
to 600 files of above mentioned names each occuping about 3MB of space.
in total i consumes some thing like 3 to 4 GB at times.

Can you suggest the remedy & cause of this problem.

Delete them.
All "*.tmp" files as well as the contents of all "Temp" files can be safely
deleted.
Reboot first to make sure they are not in use.

but generally these files get automatically cleaned when we do disk clean
up,but in my case the disk clean up does not clear it & the uild up goes on
to unitll low disk space message is generated.

I am also manually deleting it ,but i never expereinced this kind of problem
earlier.

THIS is the answer...

This problem had haunted my pc a while back as well..
after fixing it then, it returned after i updated acrobat reader.

the key is to rename the "AcroRdIF.dll" file in the Adobe -> Reader Directory, to anything else, like "AcroRdIF.dll.old".

Here's a seconder.

Hope this helps all who stuble to this seemingly dormant thread via google!

cheers!
