Windows XP acpi.sys corrupted

hello,
i have a Dell inspiron 6000 labtop and im trying to reinstall windows xp pro but when i run the windows Xp pro disc it goes to a blue screen and then when its about to start windows xp set up it says acpi.sys is corrupted

if someone have an idea please let me know..

I would check you ram modules ... XP is very good at detecting bad ram, when trying to install.
