I have anAMD Athlon 1000mhz, 61.5 gb with 256mb ram.

Recently XP pro was installed.

Since then I have been having probs with it freezing and
when I look in the event log after re-booting there are
always acpi errors.

Have you heard of this problem? If so, what is it and
what can I do about it and can it be fixed.

What specific errors are there in the event log
regarding
ACPI ? Have you checked to see whether a BIOS update
is available for your PC?

As Dave suggested, check to see if your BIOS can be updated. Otherwise,
I have to tell you, that I once had an early version Via motherboard
(it was an Iwill) that could never successfully run any Windows
NT-kernel-based os. You may need to upgrade your m/b to run XP
successfully.

Good luck,

Malke
