Possible ACPI recognition problem/Restart freezes

Hi,
I've installed XP Pro on an Intel Mac, but this problem exists in Windows
too I believe. I'm having problemas doing restarts - XP freezes every time.

I know that with my SP1 disk, there can be recognition issues with the ACPI
in the Bios during installation. There are ways you can steer the
installation to fix it but I wasn't able to figure it out, so XP is already
installed.

Is there a way to fix this issue at post-install? One would think Microsoft
would have an update for this.
I've managed thru sheer will to get SP2 downloaded and installed. But my
restarts still freeze at the point where it says "Windows XP is starting
up...."

I really would appreciate any guidance or help here. If this is not an ACPI
issue, all the better, although I don't know what else it would be.

Many Thanks, Frank B.

You cannot install and run Windows XP on a Mac computer
unless you use Apple's Boot Camp program.
Windows XP was designed for installation on
a PC, not a Mac.
