ACPI Error When Attempting to Install Vista

M

MS-Pcbob

OK
Have loaded Vista already on one machine. (This one that I am using at
pressent).
I originally wanted to load it onto a Toshiba A30.
Spec:
2.8 P4
51MB RAM
40Gig HDD

I started by putting the disk in and trying to boot from it. No way! -Blue
Screen of Death.
I then try to upgrade it through Windows XP thinking that this error may
still come up even if i go through windows.
I now get a copy error at 95%.
I burnt another disk.
The copy error has been removed and now completes the copying section and
most of the expansion before a restart is required.
Upon restart, BSOD and thats the end of it!
I have checked the disk over and it looks fine. (I have managed to install
it completely on this machine without a single error).

Any ideas?

I have a Asus M6N Laptop with the same issue. I have the newest bios and
have tried everything suggested with no success. I tried a brand new hard
drive. Is there a way to skip the setup from checking ACPI.. Why would a
power saving feature affect an installation of an operating system. Looks
like lots of ppl having this problem. When will MS post a doc or actually
try fixing this problem. I too ordered the DVD and it may be a complete
waste of my money....
