I need to get mail from my archive folde. No import option is available in
the wizard. When I check help it suggests the wizard but without the option
it is impossible.

File | OPen | Outlook Data File is the correct command.

File -> Import and Export
Select your archive's .pst file
You can select which folders to import

If you want to migrate over just individual items, do what Sue
mentioned. Open the other PST file and then drag what items you want
moved.

How do I open the file

How do you open a file in any application (or most of them)?

The import file option does not come up in my wizard. When I do a search for
the outlook.pst file or folser I get a number of items they ask me for a
program to use to open them and I dont't know which one to use. I mistakenly
hit adobe of course that did not work

Who said anything about import? You use the File | Open | Outlook Data File
command in Outlook to open your archive .pst file.

File -> Open
That's one menu path.

File -> Import and Export
That is a DIFFERENT menu path (only the parent File menu path is
shared).

When using File -> Open -> Outlook Data File, you get a browser dialog
where you navigate to the PST file. Depending on what OS you run, the
file might be hidden so you'll have to go into Explorer to change its
options to show hidden files.

When using File -> Import and Export, you select to "Import from another
program or file", then pick "Personal Folder File (.pst)", then browse
to your .pst file. Considering that it appears you tried this but
couldn't figure out, use the other menu path to open the PST file itself
rather than attempting to import it.
