ACF Newsgroup Posts - Subject Line Prefixes

These have been used as subject line prefixes in newsgroups. They have
been used with :, [], or {}. What other ones are there? People have also
put the name of a company or the name of a program with :, [], or {} as
prefixes to their posts.

Feel free to add to the list.

AA = Ad-Aware
AB = Ad Blocker
ANN = Announcement
AS = Antispyware
AT = Antotrojan
AUTH = Author
Author = Author
AV = Antivirus
AVU = Antivirus update
CHG = Change
DEV = Developer/Development
FX = Firefox
MS = Microsoft
NEW = New
NEWS = News
OT = Off-topic
PL = Pricelesssware List
RE = Regarding
REF = Reference
REQ = Request
SB = Spybot
SE = Special Edition (or Search Engine)
SPAM = Spam
*SPAM* = Spam
TB = Thunderbird
UPD = Update
Update = Update
Wanted = Wanted
Warning = Warning
WRN = Warning
WTD = Wanted

How about HTF which would stand for Hard to find freeware which would
be freeware software which is very hard to find, examples such as
MightWriter, Massiva, et al.

And even HTFG which would stand for hard to find freeware games.

How about Malw which could stand for Malware.

BLTW = Bloatware
DON/DONW = Donateware
HTF = Hard-to-find freeware
HTFG = Hard-to-find freeware games
MAL/MALW = Malware
RARE = rare, hard-to-find freeware
REGW = Registerware
SPY/SPYW = Spyware
WEBW = Webware

When this thread is finished, someone can put these in the ACF Wiki on
the Pricelessware site.

Why acronyms? Why not just write out the word so people don't have to
guess? After years of military service I'm sick of acronyms.

How about MoWa for MoronWare?

I'm with you! I'm a retired teacher (not English) and hate the
obsession with acronyms.

....

It might also be useful if subject lines posted to ACF
about specific programs were prefixed with the Pricelessware
category that the program might fit into if that program
was eventually to be selected as Pricelessware ....
