Long before I have read about my inquiry and I have forgotten the answer but
I think there is such a viewer for Access as well.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Rick is correct: there is no viewer for Access.

You may be thinking of the Access runtime, which can be installed by someone
who doesn't already have Access so that they can use an Access application,
but it must be packaged along with the application: you cannot distribute
just the runtime (nor can you download it for free anywhere)

There is not. There are many ways to get at data stored in MDB files which
do not require Access, but if you want to use an "Access application"
(reports, forms, code) then you have to have Access installed, either the
licensed version or the runtime.

While the runtime has some functionality "crippled" it is still the same
MSAccess.exe and when you install the runtime you are (in effect) installing
Access. In addition the runtime is only distributable (legally) as part of
a package that a developer creates so you can run "his" application. It is
not a free "viewer" that you can simply install so you don't have to buy
Access.

Rasoul, it is not entirely clear what you are asking. If you wish only to
be able to view report output on your laptop, you can create the reports in
snapshot format. The snapshot viewer is free.

Dear andy

Thanks for your comments. Viewing reports in snapshot format will be enough
for me.
How can I save a report on snapshot format (I couldn't find such an option
in save as command) or generaly how can I make a snapshot format from an
Access report. Where can I download a snapshot viewer? Is it possible to
open it with ACDSee?
Your comments will be highly appreciated. TIA Rasoul

You probably already have the snapshot viewer on your system. If not, you
can get it here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3f-6d74-423d-8274-8b7e6313edfb&DisplayLang=en

Creating a snapshot of a report is simple. Design the report the way you
want it to appear first, of course. Then select the report in the database
window, or do a print preview of it, then select File->Export from the menu.
When the dialog appears, change the file type to Snapshot (.snp). That's
all there is to it.

I'm not familiar with ACDsee, so I went to their web site to check. It
doesn't look like it supports .snp files.

Regards,
Randy
